What does Sapphic mean?

Sapphic is an umbrella term describing women who love women (wlw), which includes lesbians, bisexuals, pansexuals, trans women, non binary people, and more. The term comes from the ancient Greek poet Sappho, who lived on the island of Lesbos and wrote poetry about love and desire between women. Today, "sapphic" is often used as an inclusive term to celebrate queer women and their experiences.
